Kanga Cup 2026 will be held from 13–17 July 2026 across multiple venues in Canberra.
The tournament is owned and operated by Capital Football (ACT Football Federation), the governing body for football in the ACT region and a member federation of Football Australia.

Kanga Cup attracts teams from across Australia and overseas, including community clubs, associations, academies and schools at all playing levels. Past tournaments have hosted over 350 teams and 5,000+ participants, with international teams from countries such as USA, England, Italy, Russia, Denmark, South Africa, South Korea, Malaysia, India, Philippines, Indonesia, East Timor, Chinese Taipei, Fiji, and New Zealand.

Entry is open to affiliated clubs, associations of a Football Australia Member Federation, or other FIFA-affiliated National Football Federations.
Australian teams must be sanctioned by their Association and Member Federation.
International teams must be sanctioned by their National Football Federation.
Non-affiliated clubs, academies, composite teams, and schools must submit a request form for eligibility.

U9: a maximum of 12 players can be listed on the team sheet and partake in any given match.
U10-U13: a maximum of 14 players can be listed on the team sheet and partake in any given match.
U14-U16: a maximum of 16 players can be listed on the team sheet and partake in any given match.
For all age divisions, a maximum of 3 team officials can be registered.
Extra players may be registered, but only the maximum listed above will count toward team packs and match sheet.

Cup (1st tier): Premier League, Development Teams (SAP and JDL), Academies, District Representatives, Strong Division 1 teams.
Plate (2nd Tier): Newly Promoted division 1 and division 2 teams.
Shield (3rd Tier): Developing teams from lower divisions.

Registration is completed online via Dribl once it opens. If a division doesn’t appear, it has reached capacity. All registrations are first come, first served.

Higher division: Permitted if it’s one higher than their assessed division

No , the KCOC can’t. All the registration are based on first come first sever bases.

A confirmation email is sent once registration and payment are complete. Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t receive it and contact us if needed.

Incorrect registrations may be declined and require correction before acceptance.

Players born on or after 1 January 2016

Yes. They were born after 1 January 2016, so they are eligible.

No. They were born before 1 January 2016 and must register in the appropriate older age group.

Payment is required at the time of registration unless otherwise stated.

Yes. All Australian teams must obtain approval from their Association (where applicable) and Member Federation. Please see information guide for more information. After sanction is approved, please complete the Kanga Cup 2026 Sanction Confirmation Form.

Kanga Cup is structured by age group and division, with capped team numbers in each to ensure balanced and competitive play. For full details on age eligibility, division formats and team capacity limits.

Each team will play a minimum of five (5) matches, with no more than two (2) games per day.
Semi-finals (Thursday) and Grand Finals (Friday) are guaranteed for each competition.

Most fields will be grass, however some synthetic fields may be used if necessary.

Each team receives a Team Bag with a match ball, beanies, and a program book and they will collect it from their respective venues. Teams provide their match ball for games, clearly labelled with the team's name. New balls will be supplied for Grand Finals by referees.

Clubs who wish to have players play more than two years above their birth year OR in an age group below their birth year must make a formal request to the organisers on club letterhead including grounds for request.

No, a player may not represent more than one team. Any player found to be playing on more than one team will be disqualified and the team will forfeit the game they played in.

Registration on Dribl will be deemed as official ID for a player. However, all players in the tournament will be required to carry photo ID during the tournament.

Unlimited interchanges of players listed on the match card in accordance with the FIFA Laws of the Game will be allowed during all matches in all age groups.

All officials will receive tournament identification in the form of passes for officials. All players will be required to register on Dribl with their appropriate photo.
Accreditation must be worn at all times by team officials while in the technical area. Any individual found in the technical area without accreditation will be asked to leave.

Undershorts/undershirts are permitted if they match shorts/sleeves or are black, white, or skin-colored.
Carrying an alternative kit or bibs is recommended in case of colour clashes.

The match schedule will be released prior to the tournament. Teams will be notified via email once available.

Yes. Managers should have proof of player identification available if requested.

Accommodation options and travel partners are listed on the website.

Yes. Food vendors and club canteen will operate at selected venues. Local business partners may also offer tournament discounts.

Yes. Toilet facilities will be available at all venues.

Available but may be limited. Follow venue signage and staff instructions. Please be aware legal parking may result in fines. Their will be venue maps with parking options avaialble on our website closer to the tournament.

Yes, volunteers are essential to the success of the tournament. Please complete the Volunteer EOI form via the website.

Protests must be submitted in writing in accordance with the Tournament Regulations within the specified timeframe.

Matches will proceed in most weather conditions. Any delays or changes will be communicated via official channels.

Yes. The schedule may be adjusted due to operational requirements.

Please check venue-specific rules. Pets are generally discouraged unless permitted by the venue.

Kanga Cup promotes respect, sportsmanship and positive support. Abusive or inappropriate behaviour toward players, referees, volunteers or officials will not be tolerated.

Canberra offers a wide range of accommodation options. We recommend booking early due to high demand during tournament week.

Parking is available at most venues; however, it may be limited during peak times. Please follow traffic management signage and instructions from event staff.

The KCOC aims to appoint one registered referee to each match. There is no guarantee that assistant referees would be provided. Teams must be prepared to provide an assistant referee where required.

Although not compulsory, the exchange of pendants, pins and other gifts is highly encouraged during Kanga Cup. The exchanging of gifts is a sign of friendship and respect. Some teams will give a small gift so it is nice to give something in return if you can, particularly with international teams.
