Kofi Danning has been playing alongside John Aloisi during Sydney FC’s preseason and next week is likely to join the Australian Young Socceroos team on a tour of Argentina as an under-20 World Cup warm-up.

Socceroo Mark Schwarzer is an inspiration for many at the Kanga Cup.

Football is very much an up and coming sport in Tasmania, however that means little to the University Roar under-12’s Boys team, which is at this week’s McDonald’s Kanga Cup and ready to give it their all.

The Kanga Cup is normally used to sharpen the skills of its young players, however a group of New Zealand referees are using this week’s tournament to develop their own game.

There aren’t many teams that know the Kanga Cup better than Adelaide City, Belwest Foxes and Majura.
