Volunteers
The Kanga Cup could not take place without the valuable assistance of many volunteers. Volunteers come from many areas of the community. Volunteers for the Kanga Cup are the public face of Canberra, and the first point of call for many Kanga Cup enquires. The last three years has seen a number of Sports Management and Sports Media students from the University of Canberra in volunteer positions to complete practical event experience. The Kanga Cup has continually played a big role in developing the aspiring event, media and sports managers of tomorrow - just like the footballers and referees.
The 2012 Kanga Cup will be held from July 8th - 13th. We invite you to join our team to manage the Kanga Cup! Volunteers can make themselves available for a variety of timeslots and roles. This includes for the weekends only, for functions on weeknights or for the matches themselves.Roles include:
- Administration
- Facility set up/break down
- Media
- Team liaison
- Ceremonies and functions
- Ground management
- Retail
There is also assistance needed for the fortnight working up to the event. Volunteers from interstate or overseas are also welcome, we can assist with accomodation and meals.
