English Premier League Referee attending 2010 Kanga Cup!
English Premier League Referee Mr. Peter Walton will be our special guest at the 2010 Kanga Cup. Peter will attend in the capacity of motivator and mentor to encourage young referees and share his experiences of refereeing professionally with the 120 referees of the 2010 McDonald’s Kanga Cup.
Tournament Director Adam Castle said ‘It is a massive coup for us to get someone of this calibre to the 2010 Kanga Cup, we hope Peter’s presence will help inspire young referees to develop further and stay involved in the game.’ Peter is a full time referee with the Premier Game Match Officials Limited in the United Kingdom. He is also a FIFA referee. Castle continued ‘Peter’s visit remain’s in line with one of the key themes of the Kanga Cup - cultural exchange, we are all very interested in learning about the challenges of refereeing in the English Premier League’.
In the last couple of months Peter has refereed English Premier League big guns Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool as well as Everton and Fulham clubs of Socceroos Tim Cahill and Mark Schwarzer respectively. One of his most recent games was the 7-0 thrashing of Aston Villa by English Premier League champions Chelsea.
