Schedule of Events for 2011 (Expect something similar in 2012!)
Sunday 10th July
2PM – 3pm Teams congregate at the AIS Visitors Centre
Team Officials Meeting
3-4pm While the teams are lining up for the annual team march for the Opening Ceremony, the team manager’s head to the AIS Theatrette for a short information session and to receive important information from the Kanga Cup Organising Committee. Each team will be allocated a kit bag full of essential items for the week ahead. Volunteers will be on hand to shuttle managers to and from the AIS Theatrette. Please ensure you are on time.
Opening Ceremony
4pm – 6pm The Kanga Cup Opening Ceremony will see the players, coaches, managers and officials of the tournament with family, friends and special guests fill the AIS Arena for an afternoon of colour and culture as together we celebrate the start of the 21st Kanga Cup. The ceremony will start with the traditional march of teams. The event will include special guests and some wonderful performances to celebrate the opening of the 21st Kanga Cup!
Teams need to arrive by 3pm to be ready for the team march! Teams will meet outside the AIS Visitors Centre. Teams will enter the arena in reverse alphabetical order.
Monday 11th July
9am-4:30pm Games at grounds
Kanga Cup HUB (Monday to Friday) at the University of Canberra
9am-5pm Football fanatics make your way down to the Kanga Cup Expo to pick up the latest football merchandise! Check out the new Kanga Cup merchandise range from SportsCentre, replica jerseys from Football Heaven, team wear and gear from Pelada Australia, Injury treatment from Dr. Wheatgrass, Football boots from Pele Sports and information on exiting International tours from Global Sports Tours. Don’t forget to pop into Cafe MoMo for some warm food or go for a stroll around The University of Canberra campus! The Kanga Hub is the place to be!
MOVIE NIGHT at Dendy Cinema!
After a busy day of football what better way to relax than to go to Dendy Premium Cinema to enjoy a movie! The Hyundai A-League finalists will be appearing at the University of Canberra and Kaleen Playing Fields to meet the Kanga Cup participants, sign autographs and take pictures! Don’t miss out!
PRE SEASON FRIENDLY
BELCONNEN UNITED Vs CENTRAL COAST MARINERS at McKellar Park
7pm Kick Off Local premier league side Belconnen United face up against the Hyundai A-League Grand Finalists the Central Coast Mariners at McKellar Park. Watch Graham Arnold’s team in action as they prepare for the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season. Entry is free to all Kanga Cup participants and families.

Football Connect – Exhibition Match
12pm – 1pm
Watch an exhibition match on University of Canberra fields next to the Kanga Expo. Football Connect is a Capital Football Program for people with a disability who love their football!
Moove to the Groove Disco at University of Canberra Refectory
7-10pm Canberra’s DJ Stan is back for one of the most eagerly anticipated off field events of the week – the annual Moove to the Groove Disco! Please note there are no pass after entry. UC Refectory located at Kirinari Street in Bruce, ACT (located north east of the Kanga Expo).
Coaches Seminar at AIS Outdoor Synthetic Pitch
7:30-8:30pm Coaches and Managers are invited to attend a practical seminar while their players are at the disco. Special Guests include Central Coast Mariners Coach Graham Arnold and assistants Phi Moss, Andrew Clark and John Crawley with Capital Football Game Development Manager Pat McCann. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop as a coach or manager – don’t miss it!
Thursday 14th July
9am-4:30pm Play Off matches and Semi Finals at grounds

Kanga Cup Awards Ceremony @ AIS Theatrette
5:15pm sharp On the eve of the Grand Final’s we invite you to the annual Kanga Cup Award’s Ceremony. Its not a formal affair but the awards are of great significance and have a proud history. The annual Fair Play & Player of the Tournament Awards will be awarded in every division, there will be some special prizes for the winners. Join us to celebrate the success of the individuals and teams. The awards will be quick to allow you plenty of time to catch the game. Winners will be contacted on Wednesday Night/ Thursday morning.

CANBERRA FC Vs CENTRAL COAST MARINERS at Deakin Stadium
7pm Kick Off Canberra FC are Canberra’s most successful football club, watch as the 2010 treble winners take on the Central Coast Mariners, this will be the second game in the capital for the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League Grand Finalists. Entry is free to all Kanga Cup participants and their families.
Friday 15th July
Kanga Cup Grand Finals
Grand Finals will take place at the best football facilities in the region. A demanding week of football will see the two best teams in each division match up for the trophy. Please refer to the official tournament draw for further details. We wish all teams and players the very best of luck as they battle it out for one of the most sought after trophies in Australian youth football.
If your team is not competing we encourage you to attend the Grand Finals to see some great football and the all important trophy presentation.
