The Kanga Cup is a youth based club/association tournament that takes place every July. For 2012, the event will take place from July 8th - 13th. The first Kanga Cup took place in 1991, so 2012 will be the 22nd Kanga Cup!

 The Kanga Cup provides an opportunity for participants to meet players from all over Australia as well as the world. Past participants have been from Australia, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, England, East Timor, Fiji, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Italy, New Zealand, People’s Republic of China, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, the United States and others.

 International participants make the event truly unique and we proudly welcome many international teams. Taking a team on an international trip is a massive job but we are committed to making this as easy as possible for you, we will help you every step of the way. Social and cultural exchange is encouraged between competitors throughout the tournament, with a wide range of social activities available for participants and officials making the tournament a “cultural festival of football”.

 Take on teams from around the world in a fun, festive and challenging environment. The Kanga Cup can offer your team a week of strong competition balanced with a great social program. On average 200 teams have taken part each year in the ‘Kanga’ since 2002 with 231 teams taking part in 2011.

  • A minimum of five games are guaranteed and we can arrange more if requested. We will ensure games are played at some of our best venues and the trip surpasses all of your needs.
  • Facilities -  Kanga Cup grounds and facilities are chosen for the high standard and are the envy of other Australian states. First class grounds such as Hawker Football Centre, Australian Institute of Sport and Deakin Stadium are utilised.
  • Organisation - The tournament has a great reputation of being extremely organised. After 20 years the Kanga Cup is a well structured tournament that is respected around the world.
  • Cultural Development - From the Opening Ceremony, Disco, Awards and the Finals, your team will have many opportunities to mix with the local football community and other visiting teams. Canberra also has many free national institutions to keep your players entertained away from the field. We will take great pleasure in hosting you here in Australia.

Asian Fellowship Grant

Each year the KCOC awards a grant of $10,000AU to a team from the Asian Football Confederation. This grant cover local accomodation expenses only and helps make your Kanga Cup dream become a reality!

Visa Requirements

The KCOC will provide you with a letter of invitation upon registration to streamline your VISA process.

Sanction Requirements

Entry to the Kanga Cup is only available to an affiliated club/ school of a member of an International Football Association affiliated to FIFA. All teams must include a letter of sanction from their National Football Association with their paperwork. (This is to fulfil the protocols involved in visiting another part of the International Football Family.) International teams must also have proof of travel insurance to cover personal accident or injury
